Google now offers a Morse Code keyboard for Android

At the recent Google I/O developers conference, Google anounced the release of a new Morse Code keyboard addon for its Gboard keyboard app for Android & IPhone. This app is not just a niche product for ham radio enthusiasts. But will also help people with mobility issues use the same tech as the rest of us. This new software is designed to be used along with “Switch Access” which is a seperate Android interfacing app allowing for the use of external hardware seperate from the devices’ touchscreen to control its functions.

There are already several similar apps on the app stores of both major mobile OS’s. But this app comes with the full language algorythim powers of Google. Being able to suggest word completions will be a big help for new hams to learn Morse.
